GIAHS Scientific Advisory Group – Call for experts – Submissions open

The FAO – Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems Programme opens the process of establishing a new Scientific Advisory Group for the 2021-2022 term.
The Programme is seeking for five qualify experts in total, three new experts representing Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific regions and two new experts without a regional requirement who are considered as having qualifications to perform the expected task.
The GIAHS Scientific Advisory Group (SAG) is an expert body, composed of 9 members nominated by FAO’s Director General, in their individual capacity (not as a representative of a member country) taking into account regional and gender balance, to evaluate GIAHS proposal documents and make a final decision of designating Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems.
The Scientific Advisory Group members will be selected based on their skills and experience and expertise in one of the following fields: agronomy, forestry, fisheries, natural resource management, ecology and biodiversity conservation, huma sciences related to agriculture, landscape approaches, sustainable rural development, agricultural economics and policy, or related fields.
The submissions of CVs in English in response to the call for experts should be sent to:
GIAHS-secretariat@fao.org and the deadline to present a candidature is 31 May 2021.
